Literature Text

She was a pudgy little thing, not much taller than five feet. Her large, tortoise glasses were constantly sliding down her slightly pointed nose. She had freckles scattered about, like an abstract painting, on her fair, white skin. Her eyes the color of the ocean on a stormy day. The dark catapillars above those blue-gray orbs, contrasted greatly with her abundance of dirty blonde hair that she often let roam freely.
She escaped from reality through books. And wrote stories of the person she could, and one day, would be.
She was not one to talk much. Insecurities took over in the social interactions she incountered.
She felt safer behind her bedroom door surrounded by stories, music, and tools to create.

Her mother worried about her though.
This was not the same Sweet Pea she held in her arms so many years ago.
The bubbly confident little girl had disappeared.

She tried to comfort her mother, and told her she was just fine.
She always found herself lying, to herself and to those she holds dear to her heart.
It was true though, she would indeed be fine. And for the time being she was content.
Eventually she'll need more.
And hopefully she'd evolve into the person everyone longed for her to be.
But she wasn't going to be the Sweet Pea her family once knew, for she had been left behind in a different world.
Another prompt from the lovely book '642 Things To Write About'
